3 Some Chocolates, a Sweet Ménage à Trois

Sex sells

Period.

A play on sexuality sells anything from cigarettes, to denim jeans, to food, to music. Sex is everywhere.

As a consumer and a product reviewer, advertisements and brands that play on sexual themes don't really appeal to me. I don't associate the term "slut" with a "salad", so it is generally a hard pass for me. When purchasing a product or service, I want to know what is the price point and does the quality of what is being sold match the cost. I am not paying $100 for anything a boutique purchased wholesale for $7 from Aliexpress or $2 on Wish. Nope. Nope. Nope.

Second, I want to know how passionate are the company's owners about what it is they are selling. Are they business owners preparing for longevity or are they hustlers, monopolizing on a trend for a quick come-up? There is a difference and that difference is how I determine whether or not a company is worthy of my money.

Third, I want to know how well they treat their existing customers. If the brand is new, I extend a LOT of grace on packaging, shipping, and customer service. For existing businesses, I should be able to find favorable customer reviews.

Having a threesome connected to your brand is BRILLIANT when you blend milk chocolate, white chocolate, and dark chocolate into one bar, and name it “3 Some Chocolates”. That just makes logical sense but after tasting the Jerk Chocolate Bites and the chocolate trio bars, mannnnn, listen. My senses were on overload and my cravings were satisfied, so much so, the sexual connotation was an afterthought. (Or maybe I was having a chocolate covered orgasm, *Kanye shrug*).

Patrick Ali Glanville & his partner Kristin Parker are genuine chocolatiers, having created a Black-Owned niché premium chocolate company.

Price point

Products range from $10.95 for their 3rd Base Bar (3BB) to $59.99 for their Chocolate Thunder Hoodie. Between the lowest prices and the highest are truffles, alcohol infused chocolate perfect for dipping fruit and pretzels, along with 3-pack chocolate bars.

Passion

Patrick and Kristin are passionate about their craft and about their brand. I was excited for them when I saw they became Certified Chocolatiers from the Callebaut Chocolate Academy in Belgium and when they received their trademark for their jerk bites.

Customer Service

I was not surprised to see 3 Some Chocolates has over 140 reviews on Facebook. Not surprised at all. Sex sells, but in this case, 3 Some Chocolate brands itself heavily on social media using consumer content - photos and images of consumers holding their products. No scantily clad women or men making sexually suggestive comments. Their branding is cute and classy, predominantly focused on the logo, the packaging, and the CHOCOLATE.

3 Some Chocolates is a brand that exceeded my expectations. I am in a few Facebook groups with the owners Patrick and Kristin and they are people worth knowing. I have been a fan and follower of theirs almost from the beginning! I have watched them grow over the years and love what they have achieved so far with the expectation that the best is yet to come.

Be sure to chat with them on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and at 3somechocolates.com.
