You knew I had a Amazon Storefront that included Black Owned Brands that sell products through the website, right? I mean, Amazon is the largest online retailer and some popular black owned brands are also sold on the e-commerce marketplace! However, finding products from Black Owned Businesses is not an easy task (like it is on Etsy, I'm just saying). As a Prime customer, I love, love, love, LOVE (sometimes) free, two-day shipping, music, movies, books and of course the ability to one-stop shop some of my favorite Black-owned Brands. But if Buying Black on Amazon is hard for me, it's surely hard for you.
But not no mo'!
I was participating as an Amazon Associate, an affiliate program the company offers. I get paid a commission from items on my Amazon storefront. I kinda graduated and have since become an Amazon Influencer!!!
Yay me *pop champagne🍾, throw confetti🎉*
For two years, the Amazon Influencer program has let social media influencers earn a cut of sales generated from Amazon links within YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook. So, yes, when someone buys something I used, vetted, and linked to something I shared on social media, I get a cut of sales.
If you are interested in working with an influencer like me, follow Amazon's lead. Unlike the Amazon Associates program, which anyone can apply for, to be qualify to become an Amazon Influencer, Amazon looked at the number of followers and other engagement metrics of my over all social media presence. They also assessed the type of content I post and compare it to the relevancy of Amazon's customers. You can always check out my media kit here!
So now, it's on and poppin'! If you are anything like me and don't live in a city like Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Chicago, or Atlanta where Black Owned Businesses are plentiful and easily accessible, this is a big deal. To be able to go to one website and get various products from entrepreneurs who look like me, review those products, and share that experience with you is MAJOR.
